I'm not...feeling so well..
Koi's ears slanted as the others either fussed over Nobuto or yelled at her. Sango, the black and red fox was currently yelling at her. The dark type was extremely angry, why? Last Koi knew, she wasn't fond of Nobuto. He just...took her in. Haku shook the man by the shoulder, trying to keep him awake. While he could just use a water attack, Haku didn't want to make his trainer worse. The Torchic that had been injuried early on, was huddled against his chest, trying to give him some warmth. The Totodile was doing his best to wipe off the snow that was still clinging to the man's attire. Ling, hovered around. The Gastly watched on in unease, not liking where all this was going. Nor the shape that the human was in.

Sango gritted her fangs as she finally stopped yelling. Honestly what was that vulpix thinking? The two foxes got along okay originally, not really having anything negative between em. And while Sango had been abandoned by her previous trainer, Nobuto had her curiosity. Koi looked to Nobuto as she heard him groan, watching his form shake as he tried to wake up. Falling asleep out here was a bad idea, but...it was hard. So very hard when your body was crying out in pain. The multi-tailed fox looked to the ashes of scrap paper, the fire was out once again. They had nothing to burn that would stay lite for a long time.

Blood was staining the snow and ice beneath him in thiss mall cave. The red substance trickled out of his hand though, there was a worse injury on his side from when he tumbled down that hill. Ling knew that he had to do something, the normally playful pokemon could tell this whole mess was bad. Floating on out of the cave, he started to look for someone. Anyone who could help them.

still waters run deep
She didn't have much of an explanation as to why she was on Icicle Peak. It was mostly on a whim that she had closed the gym early and headed out. She supposed that she had been missing the cold weather of her home. When her family had been traveling, every now and then they had roamed away from the rivers and headed up into the mountains just to remind themselves of what it felt like to be surrounded by the beauty of snow and the feel of wind on your back.

She supposed that was what she had chosen to do. Republic City was amazing - her second favorite place she's lived so far - and she loved being the gym leader. Being able to actually get into the water instead of trying to keep dry so that you didn't freeze was a big draw as well. She'd been missing the snow, though, and she needed some time to herself with her team. They hadn't gotten to train in awhile and a fletchling had recently joined them that she wanted to get to know. The small bird soared overheard, and her rockruff hopped through the snow in front of her, leading the way.

She wore her traditional watertribe anorak as well as thick pants and fur-lined boots. On her back hung her bag, full of camping supplies, as she intended to spend the weekend in the great outdoors. She had shown her mom and brother on a map where she intended to camp, so if she didn't come back, they'd at least have an idea of where she was to be.

It was after several hours of hiking that she thought she spotted a cave that looked suitable to set up her camp. It was just about where she had pointed out on the map to her family, too, so it would be perfect. As she approached it, she saw a gastly come out. Stopping suddenly, she dropped to the ground in the snow, with Takaani immediately dropping beside her. She didn't think gastly was common in these parts... Maybe this one was lost?

'Prepare to battle,' she carefully signed to Takaani. She wasn't going to attack the gastly outright, but she'd do what she needed to do to stake the cave as her territory for the time being.

I'm not...feeling so well..
Ling searched, doing his best to know where the cave was. It took him a few moments but he noticed a form that wasn't of the snow, despite the white hair on the woman's head. HOwever she ducked down...had he startled her? While he would've been proud if that was the case, he quickly went into the cave.

"There's a human out there!" Ling exclaimed to them, causing everyone's ears to perk.

"I'll get their attention!!" Haku exclaimed as he rushed past.

The shiny golden fur would be the first thing to be spotted as he emerged. Taking a moment, he struggled to find this human but took note of them. He started to flail his paws in the air, trying to signal her to come. Making the gestures he'd seen many other times with humans.

"Please!! Come here, we need help!!!" Haku yelled across the snow.

Koi laid down by Nobuto's face, trying to warm the cold skin. She didn't think she could really help them. What could she do when she helped cause this? Sango though quickly grabbed the man's sketchbook from their bag, and rushed out to stand by Haku. Holding it up as high as she could as Haku flailed his paws, she hoped that this would convey what they were trying to say.

If the woman came closer and got to the mouth of the small cave, the two would rushed in. Hoping she'd follow. Putting the book down, the pokemon would look to the girl, trying their best to convey their desire for help for the man that cared for them.

still waters run deep
For one hot second, the gastly seemed to make eye contact with her. However, as quickly as it happened, the gastly floated into the cave. Kalluk's eyebrows furrowed and she gave her rockruff a glance before looking up to the fletchling. None of them were particularly scary looking, so she was surprised a ghost-type had rushed back into the cave. Pulling herself up onto her knees, Kalluk mulled over the situation. The fact that she no longer knew where the gastly was would make settling down in the cave an interesting experience.

She was just about to stand up when a shiny buizel shot out of the cave, it's golden fur a high contrast to the surrounded neutral colors. Alright, that's weird. As she watched the buizel flail about with its arms, the idea that there might just be another human in that cave began to dawn on her. That would explain the two pokemon.

Despite her trainer being unable to understand them, Takaani and his new fletchling friend easily could. They were calling for help. Just as a zorua made its way out of the cave with something white in its mouth, Takaani and the fletchling exchanged quick glances before Takaani turned to Kalluk and began yipping in alarm, momentarilly forgetting that his trainer wouldn't be able to hear the yips. Kalluk, who was too focused on figuring out what the pokemon were doing, didn't notice her rockruff's barking until the pokemon moved in front of her and jumped up and down to get her attention.

Startled by her pokemon's actions, Kalluk's first instinct was to tell Takaani to be quiet. She had no way of knowing how loud he was, and it was often that if she noticed him barking, she tried to silence him for fear that he would be too loud and annoying to others. This barking was different, though. The look in his eyes said something was wrong. She glanced back up at the pokemon near the cave and immediately put two and two together.

She stood as quickly as she could with her full pack and sleeping bag on her back. As soon as she was standing, she rushed forward. Her steps were barely hindered by the snow - having spent the majority of her life surrounded by snow, her muscles were adept at moving through it. It only took her a minute to get to the mouth of the cave, where she then followed the frantic pokemon inside.

The site that she saw was grim. A man, surrounded by pokemon, laid on the ground, barely conscious. There was blood trickling out of his side as well as his hand and possibly other places that she couldn't see. She immediately dropped her pack from her back and rushed to him, kneeling beside him. No wonder these poor pokemon were looking for help - their trainer was on death's door.

Kalluk gently shook one of his shoulders, her grasp firm. She could feel her heart beating harder and faster with every second that this man lay in front of her. Removing her mittens, she stood and went to her pack, retrieving a medium sized dish. She dumped the items that had been sitting in the dish and moved outside of the cave. With a deep breath and her eyes closed, she lifted her arms slowly. She then began to move them gently in the air, swaying one way and then another, pulling the energy from her surroundings. Water droplets from the snow, as well as the clouds above and air around her, began to form, being pulled back and forth by her form. As soon as she felt she had enough to fill the bowl, she guided it from the air to the bowl and took it back inside.

She immediately got to work on the wound on his side. She wasn't the best healer, but she had learned from the Northern Water Tribe within the short time that she was there. She wasn't the best at healing inner wounds, but outer wounds that she could see she could heal with some concentration. She pushed his clothes up slightly to reveal the extent of the damage, and then she began to move the water gently onto his side. With small hand movements, she circulated the water over the wound to help release the flow of energies and concentrate on the body's natural healing. She knew he'd need to be warmed soon or risk losing use of his limbs, but she couldn't cover him until she knew his major wound was healed.

Meanwhile, Takaani and the fletchling watched, huddled beside each other. Gently, Takaani stepped forward, his eyes warily on the other pokemon. When he reached the man, he sniffed at his hand, and then looked to the strange pokemon. <"What happened?"> he barked softly to them.

I'm not...feeling so well..
The pokemon breathed a sigh of relief, glad to have some aid. Koi remained put where she was, cuddled against her trainer's face to try and give them some warmth. As he was shook by the woman, a pained sound left the man as his discolored fingers twitched. Nobuto tried to open his eyes, tried to wake up. But it was hard, his eyes barely opened before they were fully closed. He was tired and greatly weakened from his efforts during that fight. All he wanted was rest. Though with the wound to his side seeping blood still, it was a risky thing to do.

"We we're heading down the mountain when...this unusually large Piloswine appeared. I didn't like it from the start but it seemed..."Koi started though the Torchic interrupted.

"He wanted to play." The small bird commented.

"Oh yes, a oversized pig wanted to play and almost ko's you with one playful action." Koi's tone wasn't too nice with this part.

She was angry, of course she was. She'd been with Nobuto the longest and yet, she wasn't able to help him much. She had failed to protect him when he needed it most. Haku though turned his attention to the others.

"He must've evolved during the fight cause I didn't see a Piloswine." Haku added. "That pokemon really didn't seem happy."

"It had no reason to be. Nobuto was nice to it, tried to comfort it even when it 'accidentally' nearly koed our feathered comrade here." Koi interjected.

When the water hit his wound, a loud pained sound left Nobuto. His body jerked, nails dug onto the cold cave floor's surface, and he shuddered. Combinging the sudden sting of the water with all the bruises he had forming wasn't a pleasant feeling. Kalluk would no doubt see some of the skin already discoloring above the wound. His fingers twitched as the numb feeling they were suffering was getting worse, and honestly, Nobuto wished his whole body would just go numb. That way he wouldn't be in so much pain. It...it honestly felt like what he used to feel, back home with his father and him having to suffer through their lessons.

"But did he...bend? You know how much he hates using his..." Haku asked.

As if to answer for him, Nobuto stirred. Wanting to escape the feeling he was under, the man forced his eyes opened. But his glasses weren't on his face, so he couldn't really see. So all he saw was a blurry figure over himself, he couldn't make out any details.

"W...h..." Nobuto started but pain quickly made him loose his voice.

still waters run deep
Kalluk did not notice the pokemon chatting beside her. As she worked at swirling the healing water over and around the largest wound, her rockruff and her fletchling listened to the story that the pokemon told. Takaani pulled back from the human when his fingers twitched, and went to sit beside the fletchling again. The two of them looked back and forth between each of the pokemon as they spoke. It sounded like not only were they roughed up by the piloswine, but they were also a little annoyed at each other. Takaani wondered why, but he wasn't going to stir up any trouble between them. The usually excited canine was purposefully keeping himself calm under the circumstances - perhaps a sign of maturity?

Although Kalluk could not hear Nobuto's pain, she could see it. His fingers clenched at the dirt and ice beneath him, and he was so tense. Bruises were beginning to form around the wound, and so she spread the water out, widening how much skin it covered. She had a feeling there might have been some internal damage, but she hoped it wouldn't be life-threatening. If she could stop the bleeding and warm him, they might be able to get him to a doctor the next day.

If he lasted that long.

Takaani's head tilted at Haku's question, and he would have asked the buizel to elaborate had the human not made some substantial noise. Eager to make sure that his trainer saw that the man was waking up, Takaani trotted over to his head, giving his trainer's arm a nudge along the way. Kalluk glanced down at the nudge and her eyes followed the rockruff to the man's face, where she saw movement in his lips.

Surprised, she gasped and nearly dropped the water she was using. Luckily, she kept it in the air and it didn't touch the ground before she moved it back into the bowl. She needed her hands free to sign to the rockruff.

"Take my pillow. Put it under his head," she commanded, and then immediately began going back to work with the water.

Having been raised by Kalluk from an egg, he had just as good of a grasp on her sign language as he did on verbal language. He nodded, and then pranced over to the fletchling, who hadn't caught on to physical language yet. <"She said to give him her pillow to use,"> he said, before giving a glance around at all of the pokemon. They could probably help. The rockruff and the fletchling fluttered to the pillow, where the two of them managed to unhook it from in between the sleeping bag and the pack. They then pulled it over to Nobuto, hoping the other pokemon would help to prop it under his head.

I'm not...feeling so well..
Koi was annoyed, she was angry that this happened. IF she never tried to push him to learn how to use his fire bending to a greater degree, they never would've come out here. They wouldn't have gotten beaten and broken badly by that strange feral pokemon. Haku went over to Nobuto's head and did his best to hold em up with the aid of Totodile, so that way the pillow could easily slid under. Koi moved out of her spot and she padded over to his chest. Where she merely sat down, leaned against him, and laid down. Her ears lowered as she laid there.

"Yeah and you were out of your ball the entire time. What exactly did you do again?" Sango questioned as the zoura shot a glare to Koi.

"I fought thank you very much." Koi replied.

"Yeah, after trying to get him to bend no doubt. The man doesn't like to bend, why you trying to make him? The only reason he's ever out here is to draw the landscape and wild pokemon. Oh and also when YOU want to get him to do some fancy bending."

Koi's gaze narrowed as she stood up, her fur raising as she glared at her fellow fox; though Sango was much darker and sporting only one tail. The dark type rolled her eyes at the vulpix.

"Even I can see that. Why do you try to get him to embrace what he can do when for some reason, he doesn't want to?" Sango commented

"Cause it's dangerous not to control it at least, and letting it sit around!!" Koi barked back. "Besides, you don't have any idea on the situations that he went though thanks to his father, it's because of that man he doesn't use his bending all that much."

"Whoopie."

The black fox rolled her eyes, clearly not giving a care. What was the point? The man was on death's door thanks to the multi-tailed fox. Koi was already feeling horrible enough, she didn't need this taken in reject to be making her feel worse. Nobuto was someone she cared deeply for, she hated to see him in pain and unhappy.

Nobuto didn't notice the pillow be put under him. Though he could hear his pokemon arguing. Trying not to make too much of a pained sound as he shifted his weight, he winced and shuddered. Haku and the Totodile both grabbed his sleeves, trying to make him lay back down. Course, he went down. A pained groan leave him as he landed, shaking more and feeling even worse. Sango's ears slanted a bit as she had watched that display of his and she glanced away. Koi merely took a seat, glaring at the darker fox before she gave Nobuto's face a few licks to try and soothe the man.

With the help of the buizel and the totodile, Takaani and the fletchling were able to drag the pillow under the man's head to support. If he began having seizures this would help him as well - they'd need to turn his body on its side, but at least his head would be cushioned from the cold, icy ground.

Once their job was done, they both made their way carefully back to Kalluk's side. The other pokemon were emotional right now, and it seemed like the zorua and the vulpix were at each other's throats. Takaani wasn't much worried about the fire type attacking - his trainer could douse whatever flames she made. It was the zorua that made him nervous. He had no idea what kind of powers a zorua had.

Kalluk watched the man writhe in pain. She wished desperately that there was something more that she could do, but she could only heal the wounds that she could see. Maybe once she was finished with the laceration and bruising on his side, she would put him in her sleeping bag, make a fire, and pool the water around his head. It might not heal anything, but it had the potential to allow him to get a good night's sleep if he wasn't going to recover within the day.

Every now and then she watched a bruise spread, and she pulled one hand farther away, following it. Her right hand remained over the main laceration. It was a slow process, but she could see some progress in the wound. There was less blood, less of a gap for it to seep out of. His body was healing, she was just helping to direct the healing energy to where it was needed the most.

I'm not...feeling so well..
Terrible...he felt terrible. It was hard to stay awake, hard for him to not feel anything but pain. The numbness in his fingers was the only other sensation that didn't really hurt. It just scared him. Feeling his heart beat in his chest, he felt like it would stop at times; even though it was his imagination no doubt on this part. The sounds of his arguing pokemon came to his ears and as he tried to open them, he got a glimpse of Koi's brown fur as she was closest to him. Slowly and regreting this, he reached out and set a hand on Koi's back gently. He winced from pain, gritting his teeth and shaking somewhat.

Koi nearly jumped out of her skin, her fur bristled in shock and surprise. Accidentally pulling away, she spun round and looked. Causing his hand to hit the floor and a sound to leave Nobuto. Koi's ears lowered as she did her best to slide herself under his hand. The warmth of her fur caused his hand to twitch and he did his best to stroke a few of her hairs. All this required was moving his wrist or just fingers, so it shouldn't disturbed Kalluk's work too much. Wrapping her tails against his hand and fingers, she tried to warm them. They were so cold...it sent a few chills through her. Oh..what had she done?

The others of his team were all tired as well, the torchic was trying to climb up the pillow though ended up getting help from Haku to get up the rest of the way. Once on the pillow, the fire chick nestled down next to the man's head. A puffy orange bird quickly dozing off. The totodile was curious what Kalluk was doing, so he watched her while taking a seat. He'd never seen a water bender before, so it was interesting. Haku took a spot next to Koi, as they had been friends for a good while and he figured, she needed some comfort too.

The last to do anything would be Sango, as Ling the gastly didn't really need sleep. He was already dead you could say. And as a ghost pokemon, sleep wasn't something you really needed. She made the move to sit closer to her trainer though she stopped sort and merely leaned against the pillow. Ling rolled his large eyes at this. It seemed everything would be okay, Nobuto had given up on staying awake and instead opted for sleep. For rest.

still waters run deep
Kalluk caught movement out of the corner of her eyes. Turning her head, she looked to the side just as Koi pulled away from the man's arm, and she watched his mouth move in response, his face wincing as his arm hit the ground abruptly. The vulpix then eased her way back in, and Kalluk could guess that she was trying to help warm his fingers.

That wouldn't do. While female waterbenders of the Northern Tribe learned healing primarily, all Water Tribe members learned how to treat hypothermia. While she couldn't be sure that was one of his problems, it would be better to treat it and be extra safe than not.

She took a careful look at the laceration - it had healed a decent amount, and wouldn't gush with blood if she removed the water. Gently, she pulled it back into the bowl, and then moved to her pack to uncurl her sleeping bag. They needed to get a barrier between him and the cold, hard ground. Pulling it forward towards the man, she laid it out directly beside him so that the edge of it was touching his side, and then opened it up.

"Tell them I'm going to pull him onto the blanket," she signed to Takaani, who had been watching her intently for a command. He stood and barked at the other pokemon. <"She's going to move him onto the sleeping bag. Everyone, move out of the way and help if you're able to.">

As soon as his side was cleared of pokemon, Kalluk stepped behind his head and reached down to grip his body under his arms. Raising his upper body just enough to clear the edge of the sleeping back, she shifted him over before moving to his feet to do the same thing and straighten him out. She even remembered to grab the pillow to prop his head.

She looked back to her rockruff. "Tell them we need to warm his center," she began to sign. "Fire types at his chest. All others at his stomach or groin. We warm the core, the core will warm the arms and legs. You two can also help."

Her rockruff nodded, and repeated the directions to the other pokemon, hoping that they were willing to listen to his trainer's advice. If they did manage to find a spot on their trainer, he and the fletchling would find a spot as well to fill in the gaps.
